Until Fall 2009, I will be accepting very few full-length book manuscripts, and those primarily from existing clients.
That's because I am spending most of my time traveling to present workshops to writers groups and touring with my two most recent books for writers, DON'T SABOTAGE YOUR SUBMISSION and DON'T MURDER YOUR MYSTERY.
In the meantime, in place of editing full-length book manuscripts I am offering a written Market Savvy critique and edit of your first 10 pages for $175, plus a self-addressed stamped return envelope.
If this alternative interests you, please proceed, ignoring only what I've written (below and on the questionnaire to download) about my giving you an estimate.

Before you have me estimate the editing
of your book, please be sure you are in agreement with what
I describe on this site about my work ethics, subject matter,
and my principles in accepting work (about me), as
well as the way I approach a manuscript (about editing,
including its sidebars).
If we decide to work together, I'll assume
you do agree; I don't want you to be surprised later.
Because it takes me close to an hour to review what you send
me and to come up with an estimate of costs, I take this next
step seriously, and I trust that you do, too.
Your next step is to download a
questionnaire. Your computer most likely has a copy of Adobe
Acrobat Reader, which should automatically open the questionnaire
on your screen. If you have any difficulty, let me know.
Please print a copy and fill it out as
completely as you can. It's the only form I'll ask you to
fill out.
